Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Josephine Otabor, better known as Phyna, has disclosed her reasons for joining the reality competition.
According to her, participating in BBNaija became necessary because of her desperation for fame.
For this reason, the hype woman, as she is known, had no confidence of winning until the last minute when her name was mentioned as the winner of the season.
She made this revelation during an interview on Joy Prime's morning show with host, Roselyn Felli.
"I felt my colleague that I was in the house with was going to win because of what we already heard from the previous party, and because of how things were going. My own was to just go outside. So, I wasn't interested in winning even until the last minute on stage," she said.
The actress further revealed that she did not watch BBNaija before she joined, even though she qualified in her fifth year after auditioning for four years.
However, she already had knowledge about the concept of the competition and was interested in participating to make a difference.
"I wanted to be so famous, so each year I auditioned and they didn't pick me, and I would say because they didn't pick me, I won't watch," she added.
Again, the model indicated that she had a general understanding of the contest but did not have in-depth knowledge about the happenings in the reality show house, so she needed to adjust and compete for the prize.
Due to her aim of becoming famous, she paid little attention to the other participants and was ready to exit the contest by the seventh and eighth weeks since she felt satisfied with her achievement.
However, she became excited after her win and is now dealing with people and the criticism that comes with popularity.
