One of Shatta Wale’s militants, Natty Lee, says he has never inked a contract under the dancehall musician's Shatta Movement (SM) record label.
According to him, the supposed contract was done verbally hence there are no official papers to bind him to Shatta Wale or his label.
"We did it verbally but not on paper. There is nothing to show that he has [officially]. I know I am working for him but we didn’t sit down to talk and I wasn’t worried about it," Natty Lee said in an interview with Sammy Kay.
His comments come after Shatta Wale had said on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM that he had a lifetime contract with his now sacked militants.
He told Andy Dosty that because of the contract no other record label can work with them unless he is contacted.
However, Natty Lee said at the no papers were drawn to make the supposed signing official.
Natty Lee explained that it was not important for him to stress Shatta Wale to put things on paper because they did not doubt themselves, adding that, they lived as brothers.
"I see him as my brother and likewise, he does the same, if all these signings come in then it means one is feeling insecure and he knew I am a long time brother and we knew for life is for life," he said.
