The Supervising Wa High Court judge Kwasi Boakye has expressed worry over the rush by witnesses to give information to the media rather than the courts.
He said they need the evidence in court to enable them not only speed up trials but to deliver quality and unbiased judgment.
Justice Kwasi Boakye made the statement at the ordinary meeting of the Upper West regional House of Chiefs in Wa.
Justice Boakye, before making the brief remark on challenges faced by the security agencies and the courts in justice delivery, first swore two new paramount chiefs as members of the Upper West regional House of Chiefs.
They are paramount chiefs of Sing and Pulima traditional areas namely Naa Issahaku Mahama and Kuoro Osman Nankpa III.
Justice Kwasi Boakye commended the Upper West regional House of Chiefs for the crucial role it is playing in the adjudication of justice in the region urging them to continue to support the judiciary and the law enforcement agencies do their work.
The supervising Wa High Court judge then lamented about the difficulty in finding witnesses for cases before the courts.
President of the Upper West regional House of Chiefs, Kuoro Richard Babine Kanton advised members of the political parties to desist from making utterances that are likely going to trigger violence in the 2020 polls.
Upper West regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih on his part, called on the chiefs to help fight the smuggling of government subsidized fertilize to neighboring countries.
