The Tamale Senior High School Examination Officer has asked for Police protection following attempts by some students to attack his family on Tuesday evening.
Alex Narh said club-wielding students were on the march to his house until it took the intervention of the school’s authorities to call them to order.
He noted that the agitated final year students threatened to assault him and his family due to strict invigilation during their Integrated Science paper on Monday.
“The School’s authority subsequently reported the matter to the police and we were protected for the night,” he said.
When asked if he felt safe, the Examination officer said, “I feel safe but for the sake of my family I humbly request for police protection.”
Since students sat for the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) on Monday there have been several videos circulating on social media.
As some students complain of tough questions others protest over strict invigilation.
Popular amongst them is the Tweneboah Kodua students who threatened to boycott the examination should their Headmaster, Frank Awuah continue to be extremely strict as they write their papers.
