Former President John Dramani Mahama says Ghanaians will not be deceived into granting President Akufo-Addo's second term bid.
He said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has performed abysmally; failing to deliver many of its campaign promises it made in the lead up to the 2016 Elections.
"First fool is not a fool but the second fool is a big fool. Somebody can deceive you ones but if you allow him to come and deceive you the second time; then you are a very big fool. I know Ghanaians are not fools and will not allow them to be deceived again" the Former President said.
The NDC flagbearer made these comments Monday when he paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief and people of Sogakope in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region.
The Presidential Aspirant stated that the December 7 polls offer Ghanaians an opportunity to vote the failed NPP administration out of power.
He also agreed to President Akufo-Addo's assertion that the outcome of the 2020 Presidential Elections would be based on track records.
Former President Mahama believes his government performed better than his immediate successor.
According to him, the NDC’s four-year reign under his leadership witnessed several developmental projects across the nation.
“The NDC broom is an old broom and we know it can sweep better than the new broom (NPP). When we make promises, we deliver. The NDC don’t make promises it doesn’t intend to deliver” he said.
Mr Mahama charged Ghanaians to be vigilant on the day of election and ensure that the NDC annex power to implement policies that will relieve them of the hardship.
