Founder of Perez Chapel International, Bishop Charles Agyinasare has urged the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa to remain neutral in the performance of her duties in the upcoming December polls.
According to him, the unique nature of this year’s elections demands that she remains exceptionally neutral and unbiased throughout the electoral process to prevent the country from sinking into chaos.
He said: “This is a very interesting election because we have a former president who has one term and we have an incumbent president who has also served one term, and they all want to have a second term. And so this is a very history-making election and I will encourage the EC to make her face like a flint and go for it and be neutral.”

The bishop who made the comment on JoyNews’ Beyond The Lockdown, asked Jean Mensa to take a cue from her predecessors; Afari Gyan and Charlotte Osei and do the best she can to deliver on her mandate.
He advised that she remains steadfast in conducting a fair, transparent and peaceful election and avoid being lured into doing the bidding of any political party.
“The EC should take a cue from these people [Afari Gyan and Charlotte Osei] and do the best she can. She must leave a legacy of being a very neutral referee. You see at times people think that when women are in positions like that they can be made puppets or are puppets. She should prove that she is not a puppet,” Bishop Charles Agyinasare said.
We want to have peaceful elections; we don't want to see vigilantes, we should grow above that.
