The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama has said the party will not accept a flawed election come the December 7, election.
Speaking to the press on the integrity of the provisional voters’ register, the former president insisted on looking forward to free, fair and flawless elections, hence the party would not look on neither would it ignore its civil responsibilities.
"We wont allow the EC whether by ill intents or a sheer incompetence till you serve the people's mandate in the 7th December election".
In June this year, the NDC government was in disagreement with the Electoral Commission's decision to compile a new voters’ register.
Mr Mahama warned the Electoral Commissioner that the party will not accept the results of upcoming election if things are not done as they should.
He said Jean Mensa will have herself to blame if the country is thrown into chaos because of election disagreements.
While on a campaign tour in the Bono region on Tuesday, Mr Mahama on Tuesday suspended his campaign tour over the many anomalies in the provisional voters register and exhibition process.
Also commenting on the development, the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, stated that a flawed election is one which "the electoral commission publicly acknowledge mistakes and fails to correct the mistake and proceed to announce the elections as credible".
"When a male becomes a female in a register is a recipe for chaos on Election Day," he added.
John Mahama cautioned the EC to take immediate steps to rectify and sanitise the register and exhibit it to the voting public and all stakeholders to verify their particulars in the voter register before it is finalised.
