A Deputy CEO of the Northern Development Authority (NDA), Lariba Abudu has denied reports of her involvement in the disappearance of some 400 tricycles belonging to the Authority.
She was alleged to have masterminded the relocation of the tricycles that reportedly got vanished from the guarded premises of the NDA in Tamale.
The incident which occurred last year in November saw President Akufo-Addo firing the former CEO, Dr Majeed Haroun, who had asked for a police inquiry into the matter.
The former CEO had asked the police to investigate a number of high profile personalities, including the Regional Minister Salifu Saeed and Chairman of the ruling party Mohammed Samba as well an unnamed deputy CEO of the NDA, in connection with the theft.
Even though, no name was mentioned as to who this deputy CEO was, Hajia Lariba was widely suspected to have collaborated with the Kandahar Boys to steal the tricycles from the NDA's yard.
But responding to the allegation for the first time since last year, Hajia Lariba described the accusation as "a myth to score political points" and must be treated with contempt.
"Its not true because we have a managemet in place... We have a very vibrant board that won't sit down for somebody to take 400 motorbikes," she told JoyNews correspondent Eliasu Tanko.
Hajia Lariba made these remarks during the delivery of over 1000 dual desks donated by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and scheduled to be distributed to schools in the constituency under government's '$1 million 1 Constituency' policy.
She also commended President Akufo-Addo for initiating projects which have led to development in the zone.
