Former Information Minister, Stephen Asamoah-Boateng, has challenged government claims that he’s being sought by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).
Mr. Asamoah Boateng, his wife and two children were prevented from getting on a London-bound flight last Sunday.
After that deputy Information Minister Samuel Okudjeto-Ablakwa told Joy News’ Sammy Darko that Mr. Asamoah-Boateng’s journey was cut short because he was needed in the country to assist in investigations into a contract for the renovation of the Information Ministry.
But the former minister says this is not true.
He told Joy News that he turned himself in at the BNI only for agents to tell him that he wasn’t needed.
He also claims the BNI denied that the people who stopped him at the airport were its agents.
