The 2018 National Best Farmer says he is making more money from agriculture than he did when he worked in the cooperate world.
James Boateng said his decision to quit his managerial role and venture into agriculture has been highly profitable.
Speaking on the AM Show on Friday, James Boateng recounted his journey in the agriculture sector stating that, he started farming on a three acres land.
He attributed his success in the agricultural sector to the implementation of a modern style of agriculture and the application of his business skills acquired as a corporate worker.
“If you did farming like the way our grandmothers use to do then obviously you are going to fail.”
The 62-year-old farmer from the Nkoranza South Municipality in the Brong Ahafo Region advised farmers to desist from starting up farming with a borrowed money.
“Debt is not the way to go even though monies you borrow will help you. There is nothing better than you the potential farmer like every business raising your own equity,” he said.
