Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu has accused government of abusing incumbency by letting its aspiring MPs take credit for state development initiatives in an attempt to win more seats.
He is, however, predicting the NDC will still win between 36 and 47 additional seats in Parliament in the December 7, elections.
"We've seen instances where parliamentary candidates are commissioning and projects and are supervising projects.
“Abuse of authority, state resources and incumbency particularly under the development authorities," he said.
He added that the expenditure of the various development authorities will be scrutinised "from now until early next year."
The NDC currently has 106 out of 275 seats in the Parliament.
His prediction, if it comes through will give the NDC a maximum of 153 seats in the House leaving the NPP with 122.
Mr Iddrisu told JoyNews the next Parliament will have a close number of majority and minority MPs.
"There would be a slim majority in Parliament but we are very optimistic that it will be an NDC majority," he added.
Mr Iddrisu has won the Tamale South seat for four consecutive times in 2004, 2008, 2012 and in 2016.
