UK rapper Stormzy took home a gong for winning the Best International Flow award at the 2020 BET Hip Hop Awards show.
The ‘Heavy is the Head’ rapper was competing against Meryl and Kaaris both from France, South Africa’s Nasty C, Khaligraph Jones from Kenya, also from the UK Ms Banks and Brazil’s Djonga to win the award.
Stormzy in his acceptance speech said “I am grateful. I feel blessed. I feel honoured."
He revealed that he was elated to have been given the award considering the numerous talents there are across the globe.
The award was presented to him by Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie who took home the award last year.
The BET Best International Flow was introduced in 2019 making Stormzy the second winner of the award.
Because of Covid-19 restrictions, Stormzy’s acceptance speech was pre recorded - like many others he could not make it to the show.
The 15th annual BET Hip Hop Awards was broadcasted virtually on October 27.
