The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced its decision to embark on a march in honour of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.
The march, which has been scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 26, is to recognise the principles of probity and accountability that Mr. Rawlings stood for.
The Party's General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia in a statement on Thursday noted that recent developments in the country seek to undermine the former statesman's effort to uphold public accountability to citizens.
Considering this, Mr Nketia said, "The party believes that it is imperative at this time to rally Ghanaians to uphold and respect the principles of probity and accountability enshrined in the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, even as the nation prepares for the December 7 Polls.
The General Secretary then urged all and sundry including supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to join in this march, which is a befitting tribute to the memory of Ghana's foremost anti-corruption giant.
Mr Rawlings died on Thursday, November 12 after a short illness at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
