There are a lot of questions hanging over Lionel Messi's head, with the Barcelona captain's contract set to expire on June 30, and he has explained how the actions of last summer affected him at the start of this season.
Messi told Barcelona last summer that he wanted to depart before sitting down for an interview with Goal to clarify what had happened and why he would now see out the 2020/21 campaign at the Camp Nou.
Now, as part of a Christmas special, Messi has had an interview with Jordi Evole for LaSexta, which will be broadcast on December 27 at 21:25 CET.
"I'm actually doing well today. It's true that I had a very bad time in the summer," Messi told Jordi Evole during the interview, with the radio programme 'El Mon a RAC1' having aired a small extract from it.
"It came from before. What happened before the summer, the way the season ended, the burofax and all that... Then I dragged it with me a bit at the beginning of the season."
Will Messi leave Barcelona at the end of the season?
This is the question that all football fans are wondering. Nobody knows, and it still remains up in the air, but Messi is just focusing on winning more trophies with Barcelona.
"I'm fine today, and I feel like seriously fighting for everything that's ahead of us," Messi said.
"I feel excited. I know that the club is going through a difficult time, at the club and team level, and everything around Barcelona is difficult, but I am looking forward to it."
