MTN Ghana has distributed 20 hampers to babies born on Christmas Eve at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital (CCTH).
The gesture which was made on Saturday, December 26 was to show love and care to children during the festive season.
The items including; baby diapers, oil, towel, soap, powder and baby lotion were shared among nursing mothers to put smiles on their faces as they were congratulated.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency after the donation, the Territory Sales Controller of MTN, Dominic Tweneboah Debrah, said it was the Company’s Corporate Social responsibility to show appreciation to mothers who delivered on the eve of Christmas and Christmas.
"MTN takes it as part of its social responsibility to share the gift to mothers who delivered on the Eve of Christmas, we pray for these children and their mothers and hope they join the MTN bigger family.”
Mr Debrah urged all members of the MTN family to continue using MTN saying it provides faster and reliable services.
Health Service Administrator of CCTH, Nancy Waaley, expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for the kind gesture shown to nursing mothers at the facility.
She said 4 mothers were delivered through caesarean and two delivered by Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery (SVD) on Christmas Eve, while the rest were on Christmas and Boxing Day.
A first-time mother, Georgina Amoako, thanked MTN Ghana for making the day a memorable one for mothers and prayed that its operations continued to be smooth in the coming years.
