Some street children in Accra found happiness on Christmas day thanks to FEED Ghana, who gave them a special treat.
Dubbed 'Jollof with Santa', the NGO fed 1,200 children and some mothers last Friday.
This was an initiative of Vivian Boamah who shared the desire with friends who rallied behind her and raised enough money to serve over 200 street children with a warm meal.
The first was in 2016.
Since then there have been two other editions and a non-governmental organisation; FEED Ghana formed to ensure the initiative does not die.
In 2019, due to several circumstances, the fourth edition of Jollof with Santa did not come on.
The way 2020 turned out may have pointed to the same, however, the NGO had the resolve that if ever the less-privileged needed smiles on their faces it was this tough year.
Jollof with Santa raised money from many donors then had several volunteering to help in the day.
The result was street children receiving great natural cocktails from Fantasyz cocktails then receiving a pack of jollof with chicken, water and a drink. Over 1,200 meals were given to street children.
It was a caravan of three mini trucks making stops at vantage points and putting smiles on the face of the children.
Before any child received anything they washed their hands with soap and water to fall in line with Covid-19 protocol.
Jollof with Santa started as Vivian's dream to just make street children smile and this dream continues to grow every Christmas.
