Head of the legal firm, Law Plus, Dennis Adjei Dwomoh says the knowledge of Ghanaians on the topic of 'Law and Politics' has grown over the years because of the predominant 2012 term 'pink sheet'.
According to the lawyer, everybody who witnessed the 2016 and 2020 general election will confirm that the citizenry engagement and understanding of the pink sheet came about because of the 2012 election petition by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He said the opportunity to learn more about politics and the law has once again presented itself in 2020 as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) petitions the Supreme Court to annul the 2020 general elections results.
“Before the 2012 election petition, we did not have much knowledge about pink sheet and understanding electoral process," he told host of JoyNews' The Law, Samson Lardy Anyenini.
He explained that the pink sheet is relevant in every step of the petition to aid the verdict of the Court and set policies for future electoral processes.
"The pink sheet helps the Electoral Commissioner and Legislatures to make policies that guide the way elections must be conducted in the future.
"An opportunity to give further policy direction which will engage the mind of the Electoral Commission and Lawmakers to pass legislation that guides Ghana's future conduct of elections," he explained further.
Mr. Dwomoh added that he found it a relief to know that people now wanted to get involved in election-related exercises.
