The Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency, Lawyer Francis Xavier Sosu has donated 100 bags of cement to the Madina Central Mosque to help with ongoing projects.
Lawyer Sosu said the Central Mosque is one of the biggest mosques in the constituency where most of the Muslims worship, one of many reasons for his donation.
According to him, he reached out to the Holy place for support in his quest to becoming MP.
“We saw the project when we came to ask for blessings before the election and thought it wise to help fastened the process to a successful end,” Lawyer Sosu said.
He further thanked the Almighty Allah for his victory in the Parliamentary elections and prayed for good governance in the years ahead.
Chief Imam Sheikh Abdullah Shuaib said he was taken aback by the act of generosity displaced by the Madina MP.
The Chief Imam thanked Lawyer Sosu for his kindness and prayed that Allah would help him throughout the period of his work.
He said the expansion of the mosque has been supported by many individuals which include government workers, private workers and philanthropists.
On the other hand, Sheikh Abdullah Shuaib urged the MP to be humble and work for what he had been called for.
He urged the legislator to love all persons irrespective of their religious or political background and render untainted service to help bring growth into the constituency.
The General Secretary of Madina Chiefs, Alhaji Iddris Holison also showed gratitude to the MP for the donation.
He thanked Lawyer Sosu on behalf of the entire Muslim community and prayed for a successful term in office.
“You have started well. A journey of thousand miles begins with one step,” he added.
