Parliament has announced public hearings of the appointments committee scheduled for today, Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
This, according to a statement from the Public Affairs Department of Parliament is under “Articles 78(1) and 256(1) of the Constitution of the Republic and Order 172 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, the nominees of His Excellency the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for Ministerial and Regional Ministerial appointments have been referred to the Appointments Committee of Parliament for consideration and reports.”
The statement also indicated that all media houses are to report on the event from their respective organisations as only one media to pick the feed and share with others.
“As part of efforts to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus and in adherence of the Covid-19 protocols, the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation is the only station mandated to cover the event,” the statement said.
“The station will broadcast the event live on their main channel and provide feed to other Media Houses if the need arises,” it added.
Only four invitees per person, according to the statement, will be allowed into the sitting as it is strictly by invitation.
The event will, however, take place at the Committee Rooms 1 and 2, New Administration Block, Parliament House at 10 am prompt for this purpose.
All Covid-19 protocols will be strictly adhered to, according to the statement.
