Government has supplied the first batch of furniture to primary schools in the Hohoe Municipality to enhance teaching and learning.
The items include 180 dual desks, 12 teachers’ tables, 112 library chairs, 18 library tables, two file cabinets, 12 bookshelves and three notice boards.
Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Andrews Teddy Ofori who supervised the distribution and visited some of the beneficiaries gave the assurance that more furniture would be provided.

He noted that the distribution was made based on the needs of the schools after a study carried out in the municipality.
Mr Ofori said the items would enable students to have a comfortable and conducive environment for studies and also reduce the burden on parents amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
Desmond Korby Vorvor, the headmaster of Akpafu Mempeasem E.P Primary School, a beneficiary school, expressed gratitude to the government for its support in such pressing times.
He said the school received 70 dual desks, a teacher's table, 27 library chairs and five library tables.
Mr Korby Vorvor noted that the items have been distributed to various classes and the school's library.
He gave the assurance that the items would be used to enhance the academic activities of the students.
