The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ga East, Hon. Edmund Agboh embarked on a community walk in Dome Zongo to engage with the youth on the dangers of drug abuse.
The outreach aimed to sensitise young people, particularly in the Zongo community, to stay away from harmful substances, with a particular focus on the increasing abuse of a drug known as “Red.”
Hon. Agboh walked through the streets alongside community leaders and volunteers, interacting with residents and urging the youth to seek healthier alternatives to cope with life’s pressures. He emphasized that drug abuse not only destroyed lives but also weakened the future of the community.
The MCE commended community members who have been advocating against substance abuse and called for collective responsibility in tackling the growing issue.
He also pledged the assembly’s continued support in creating opportunities for youth development through education, skills training, and employment.
The campaign received positive responses from residents, with many expressing their readiness to support initiatives that promote safe and productive lifestyles for young people in Dome Zongo.
