On Friday, February 19, the Consultative Committee to Combat Drug Menace in Schools released a report that established that about 54.1% of boys in Junior High and Senior High Schools use cannabis.
According to a survey which was carried out by the Committee, 59.9% of boys tend to use cigarettes more in schools.
The survey was conducted in 176 schools to ascertain the source and cause of the increase in drug use in various Senior High and Junior High Schools in the country.
On The Probe, host Emefa Apawu and her guests address the increase in substance abuse in basic and second cycle schools in Ghana.
Joining the host is the Chairman of the Consultative Committee, Bright Appiah and Director of Guidance and Counselling at the Ghana Education Service Mrs. Ivy Kumi.
Also, on the show is President of the National Association of Graduate Teachers, Angel Carbonu, and Clinical Psychologist at the University of Ghana, Rev Fr Anthony Afriyie Amponsah.
