The constant interruptions in electricity supply in parts of the Ashanti Region have harmed the operation of traffic lights in Kumasi.
Controlling vehicular movement at major road intersections is hindered when traffic signals are off. In the midst of chaos, a young sachet water vendor dared to bring order to one of Kumasi's road intersections.
In a viral video, a 24-year-old lady is seen directing traffic flow at the Top-High intersection on the Tech-Adum road.
Comfort Kukua Danten, who hawks sachet water around, says the area is prone to accidents anytime the traffic lights go off.
She was inspired to take on the volunteer traffic warden job in the middle of the confusion and road rage.

The motorists initially ignored her instructions, but they eventually did so in order for her to achieve free flow of traffic.
Comfort stopped working and stayed in the heat for almost four hours.

Speaking on Nhyira Fm’s Kuro Yi Mu Nsem Show with Nana Kwadwo Jantuah, Comfort said she realised there were no MTTD officials so the cars were almost crushing.
“They were almost crushing their cars and I couldn't sit unconcerned. That’s why I went there to intervene,” comfort explained.
If she is given the opportunity to continue her studies, the JHS graduate hopes to become a police officer.
“I will go If I get the support to continue my education to become a police officer. Even if I should cut my hair, I will do that immediately”.
