The Upper East Regional Manager of the Expanded Program on Immunization of the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Dominic Yeboah has said a research conducted by the Ghana Health Service shows more female turned up for the Covid-19 vaccination than their male counterparts.
According to him 54 percent of female received the vaccine while the male percentage was 48.
Addressing disease control officers of the Ghana Health Services at a training workshop organized by the CRS on Covid-19 vaccine promotion initiative inception Mr Yeboah said the research identified that myths that men become sexually weak when they take the Covid-19 accounted for the low patronage by men.
He said some of the men alleged that they could have sex between four and five rounds in the past but after taking the vaccine their performance has dropped.

Mr Yeboah tasked the disease control officers to work hard to dispel the myth in order to encourage more male to receive the vaccine when the second phase of the vaccination begins.
Director of Vaccines Promotion Initiative at CRS Dr. Mohammed Ali appealed to government to invest in research at the various health schools in the country so that these schools can come out with inventions that can solve the country’s health needs.
He said Covid has come to stay and so government will have to invest in scientific knowledge in order to find solutions that will eradicate Covid-19 in the country.

In a presentation, the Programmes Manager of Vaccines Initiative Promotion at CRS Tiimob Gideon Likida applauded the health officers for putting their lives on the line since the emergence of Covid-19.
He also appealed to them to educate their community members on the negative perception about the Covid-19 vaccines is not safe.
He expressed satisfaction at the cooperation offered by the health workers.
The workshop was aim at educating the health officers about some negative perceptions of some Ghanaians about the Covid-19 vaccines.
