The Ejura Sekyedumase MP, Muhammad Bawah Braimah, has called on the Police to up their game and ensure perpetrators in the death of social activist Ibrahim Mohammed, aka Kaaka Macho, are brought to book.
"It is my prayer that the Police will expedite action to unravel the perpetrators of this heinous crime and to bring them to face the full rigours of the law, to restore the peace and security once more to Ejura–Sekyedumase," he said in a statement.
Mr Bawah Braimah described the deceased as one who led a course for change, saying his death is unfortunate.
“He died a martyr and may the all mighty Allah grant him paradise,” he said.
Ibrahim Mohammed was an activist of #FixTheCountry, a campaign aimed at drawing government’s attention to the issues in the country with which the youth are unhappy.
While at it, Kaaka Macho was allegedly attacked by two assailants in Ejura in the Ashanti Region on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
He was then taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for treatment after being struck on the head several times but was pronounced dead on Monday.
“We were hoping for his recovery, but unfortunately, reports reaching us this afternoon indicates that he could not survive the attack after doctors tried fruitlessly to save his life,” the MP said.
He, therefore, expressed profound condolence to the deceased's family and the people of Ejura Sekyedumase.
"I wish to express my profound condolences to his family especially to his wife, children and to all the people of Ejura –Sekyedumase."
He also implored the youth to desist from acting unlawfully and rather “cooperate with the police by providing all the leads to the Police to expose such criminals in our Municipality.”
