The Accra Metropolitan Health Inspectors on Wednesday arrested a boy who threw plastic waste into a gutter at James Town, a suburb of Accra.
The inspectors, as part of the CleanGhana campaign were in the community on their weekly environmental health sensitization exercise when the boy was caught throwing the plastic waste into one of the main drains.
The team proceeded to the James Town Butchery to educate the butchers on how to make their activities more hygienic.
They issued summons to a certain man who had set fire close to some wooden structures, which according to the environmental health officials, could cause a fire outbreak.
In the same neighborhood, an offensive smell was traced to a public toilet, which septic thanks were not properly fixed.
Surprisingly, the public toilet in question, houses a hairdresser salon and other shops, while provision stores and food vendors sell close to the facility.
