Ten lucky SMEs will enjoy a full ‘Business Make Over’ as a part of a campaign launched by MTN Business to create more awareness on how small businesses can use the power of technology to enhance the management of their business and to grow their business’ competitiveness in the context of a regional and global marketplace.
The MTN Business SME Campaign was launched under the theme, 'MTN Business, Your Partner for Growth.'
The campaign will run for six months and will feature the following:
- New and refreshed products and services especially suited to support small and upcoming businesses will be launched over the next six months.
- Digital webinars tailored to support SMEs with growth and digital acceleration topic areas
- SME engagements will be held in Greater Accra and Ashanti regions among others
A mega promo for SME at the end of the year and a special loyalty event to appreciate existing customers
Winners of the ‘Business Make Over’ will receive packages including free MTN connectivity, free smartphones from Atlantic Phones; free set up on Hubtel E-commerce site, One Year Business Manager App service by Npontu Technologies, Free Vehicle Trackers by E-solutions, Banking and capacity building services by Fidelity bank, MoMo Merchant set up, one year unified communications and IVR service, Digital Advertising Service and an MTN Business surprise goody bag among many others.

To be among the lucky 10, the business must be an SME with 50 or less staff and must purchase an MTN Business Service at ¢200 minimum, upload a video of how the business is using the service on social media, tag 10 other small businesses and follow MTN Ghana and MTN Business on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.
Speaking at the launch of the campaign, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh indicated that as part of the 25th anniversary, the company wants MSME growth to be one of MTN’s lasting legacies for the business community.
He said, “We are embarking on this campaign because we believe everyone, including MSMEs, deserve the benefits of modern connected life. With technology-based innovations such as e-Payments, business management suites, e-Commerce, Marketplace, Apps, to name a few, the achievement of modern connected life for MSMEs in Ghana will be greatly enhanced.”
We are confident that this campaign will yield the desired results,” he added.
A partner of the SME Campaign and the Chief Executive Officer of Hubtel, Alex Bram said he believes the campaign will yield success because everything MTN touches turns into gold.
He eulogised MTN for the immense contributions and support the company gives to small businesses to grow. He added that Ghana needs to learn from Asia as, within the last five years, Asia has been able to lift millions out of poverty through the support given to SMEs.
Speaking to the media after the launch, the Chief Enterprise Business Officer of MTN Ghana, Sam Addo urged MSMEs to take advantage of the many tailored solutions on offer by MTN Business to gain a competitive edge.
He said, “Every MSME has the potential to grow if given the right opportunity, technical and digital platforms to grow”.
The SME Campaign which will last for six months will see a lot of exciting activities and promotions churned out for SMEs across the country.
Activities including MSME Seminars with seasoned personalities in the industry to share valuable business insights, SME product launches and promotions, and SME association engagement sessions will be organised nationwide.
