The Coordinator for Zongo Development, Ben Abdallah Banda, has reiterated government's commitment to develop zongo communities in the country.
He told youth of Kumasi during the grand finale of Inter-Zongo Football competition that, constructing Astro Turfs that would lead to unearthing football talents in zongos, form part of many strategies to support Zongo communities.

Mr Ben Abdallah promised to ensure that the Astro Turf project at Aboabo is completed, so the youth could have the opportunity to play the football competitions in subsequent years.Â
He commended organizers of the annual football competition for bringing about social cohesion, love and peace between communities.
The Zongo Development Coordinator admonished the youth to be of good behavior and refrain from negative activities.

He supported the teams with jerseys, football and some undisclosed amount of money.Â
Mr Abdallah, who is the former MP for Offinso South, was appointed as the Coordinator for Zongo development. His appointment follows government’s decision to make the Ministry of Zongo and Inner Cities Development a Secretariat under the Presidency. Â
