A traveller has apologised for lashing out at health officials testing for Covid-19 at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
According to her, she did not know that a negative status could change within 24 hours as far as the novel coronavirus infection is concerned.
This comes days after the Ghana Health Service (GHS) dispelled information circulating on social media that antigen tests being carried out at the airport are fake.
Two passengers, last week, who allegedly tested positive when they arrived in the country went online to express their displeasure about their results and the need for them to go into isolation for seven days.
The women who have been identified as Mavis Boateng and Ivy Ankrah claimed the mandatory antigen test for in-bound passengers is fake.
Ivy has, however, backtracked, adding that her emotions at the time were fuelled by distress.
In another video filmed from her isolation centre, Ivy explained that health experts explained to her after the initial viral video, that “it is possible that you can test within 24 hours and still test positive, so I am here to say I am sorry."
She also expressed regret for the scene created at the M Plaza Hotel where other infected travellers were isolating during her viral rant.
“They opened their doors to all the Covid patients to be quarantined,” she added.
She has since procured both PCR and antigen tests, both of which have returned positive. She is still in isolation on medical experts' advice.
