A 22-year-old has been stabbed to death by his friend at Nkawkaw Zongo in the Kwawu West Municipality of the Eastern region over a Bluetooth music box.
The deceased, Umar Lawali is said to have had some misunderstanding with the suspect, identified as Shafiq, age 20, following the suspect's quest to retrieve his speaker from Umar.
According to reports, the father of the deceased had pleaded with the suspect to come for his device the following morning. But he refused and threatened to use all means to retrieve the music box.
Explaining how the incident occurred to Adom News’ Akwasi Dwamena, Fati Mohammed, a woman who spoke on behalf of the Umar's mother, Mamuna, said the suspect stabbed his friend with scissors on the neck and stomach.
The Assembly Member for Nkawkaw Zongo, Tamimu Halidu who confirmed the incident, is appealing to law enforcement agencies to ensure that the laws of the country deal with the suspect.
According to him, the suspect is known to be on drugs, stressing that the act should not be taken lightly, to serve as a deterrent to others.
He also advised parents to instil good training in their wards to help build good citizens for the country.Â
