The new Tain District Hospital in the Bono Region has recorded its first new born baby through a successful surgery on Monday, September 6, 2021.
The Medical Superintendent of the facility, Dr. Richard Adinkra Kyeremeh, who disclosed this at Nsawkaw, Tain District capital said “the baby and mother are doing perfectly well and we hope to discharge them soon”.
He explained that all departments and services of the hospital are now fully opened to the public so people can have access to quality health care.
“With the help of the Ghana National Ambulance Service and the Staff at our old health center, we have moved all our inpatients to the new facility and they are doing well,” he said.

The Medical Superintendent consequently urged those who need medical care to visit the facility for their healthcare delivery.
Meanwhile the acting District Chief Executive for Tain, Charity Akua Foowaa Dwommoh commended the people of Tain district and its surrounding communities for exercising much restraint whilst management of the hospital prepare to begin operation.

She, however, entreated the inhabitants of Tain to avoid self-medication and visit the new district hospital whenever they fall sick so that the facility will not be under-utilized.
She charged the hospital authority and the Ghana Health Service to ensure good maintenance culture in order to sustain the lifespan of the facility.
