The Ashaiman Divisional Police Command has arrested some 15 persons suspected to be armed robbers and car snatchers.
The suspects, who are believed to be involved in a various robbery and car snatching activities, are currently in the custody of the Ashaiman Divisional Police Headquarters, assisting the police in conducting investigations.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that the suspects forcefully attacked a woman at Adjei-Kojo, where they made away with an unregistered Range Rover, leaving the victim to her fate.
Following the incident, some local motor operators who witnessed the crime jumped on their motorbikes to pursue the criminals.
The 'Okada' riders were later joined by the police to bring the perpetrators to book. Â
After some hours of chasing, the police and the okada riders traced the robbers into their hideout around Atadeka, where they were finally arrested.
After a thorough search, some additional suspects were also apprehended with a weapon retrieved from the criminals.
The news of this recent robbery adds to the current incidences of daylight robberies in the country.
Meanwhile, the acting Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, has pledged his commitment to dealing decisively with the menace and other related criminal activities across the country.
