Promasidor Ghana Limited has presented some of its products to victims of tidal waves devastation along the coast of the Gulf of Guinea in the Anlo district, Keta and Ketu South Municipalities of Ghana.
The company presented products worth ¢120,000 to the displaced victims at a short ceremony in Keta.
A recent tidal wave that swept through some sections of Ghana’s coast in the Volta Region left about 3000 residents homeless in the Anloga District, Keta, and Ketu South Municipalities.
Over 200 households in Agavedzi, Salakope, Amutinu, Kedzikope, Abutiakope, Fuveme, Dzita, Agbledome, among other communities, were destroyed by sea wave which occurred over a week ago.
The victims are forced to sleep in the open, exposing them to unfavourable conditions.
Learning of the plight of these victims, Promasidor Ghana Limited decided to support the affected persons with some relief items.
The items donated included cartons of Cowbell Milk, Miksi Dairy Blends, Onga Food Seasoning, Yumvita Infant Cereal, books, pencils, and bowls.
Presenting the items, the PRO of Promasidor Ghana Ltd, Gideon Kodo, empathized with the affected residents expressing the importance of Ghanaian communities in the growth of the Promasidor brand.
He further indicated that the donations were part of the civil social responsibility to Ghanaians, adding his outfit might consider extending supports to the victims considering their situations.
The Municipal Chief Executive of the Keta Municipal Assembly, Emmanuel Gemegah, who received the items on behalf of the victims, appreciated the gesture during such a critical situation and appealed for more of such gestures.
He indicated a need for continuous support, especially for victims who have had their communities cut off from Keta.
Togbe Yador I of Abutiakofe in Keta thanked Promasidor Ghana Ltd for the donations on behalf of the affected residents.
