Former Black Stars and Asante Kotoko midfielder, Yussif Chibsah, believes Sulley Muntari's move to Accra Hearts of Oak is a beneficial one for the Ghana Premier League.
Muntari was announced as a new addition to the Phobian team earlier this month, as the club seeks to overturn their fortunes after a poor start to the 2021/22 league season.
Chibsah, who played with Muntari in the national team says, the latest move by Muntari should be used as a measure to convince other veteran players to come and play for the local clubs before hanging up their boots.
Speaking on Joy FM, he said, "We need to appreciate that [his effort to join the domestic league]. My maximum respect to Sulley [Muntari]. I know him, I have played with him and I know what kind of person he is - he has got the character and he doesn't want to lose even at the training grounds. Therefore for him to have come to join the local league is a boost for the domestic league."
"We all know what happened in Cameroon [during the AFCON]. Let's take advantage of this [his presence in the league] to entice more players who are thinking of retirement to come and join any of the local clubs to play."

Chibsah, who donned the jersey of the Porcupine Warriors, also predicted a defeat for Hearts in Sunday's Super Clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
"It is unfortunate that he is at the other side. He is coming to play against my club, Asante Kotoko. I wish him well but then he is going to lose. Tomorrow it will be a loss for Hearts," he added.
Muntari has already featured twice (against Great Olympics and Real Tamale United) for the Rainbow club in the league and continues to chase a first win in rainbow colours.
