The Police Administration is in limbo on whether or not to allow a planned demonstration by the opposition pressure group, Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG).President Mills has in a statement directed the Inspector General of Police, Paul Tawiah Quaye, to provide the necessary security for all groups wishing to embark on a demonstration. But the directive coincides with a court order secured by the police a while ago prohibiting the demonstration. The police administration had argued it couldn’t provide security for the demonstrators because it is preparing for the visit of US President, Barack Obama. The Fast Track High Court presided over by Justice Uutter Paul Dery hearing the arguments of the police ruled against the demonstration.Joy News has learnt the IGP and the police hierarchy is meeting now to determine the next line of action.
