Residents of Korle-Wonko, a suburb of Accra, were on Wednesday made to clean gutters in their frontage when Joycleanghana campaign team and Accra Metropolitan Assembly’s Public Health Inspectors stormed the community to sensitize them on how to maintain good hygiene.
On arrival in the community, the team saw that gutters in front of a kenkey factory were choked with plastic waste and feaces.
The sellers had some of their wares displayed at the edge of the gutters.
The unhygienic conditions made the health inspectors force the residents to clean and desilt all gutters.
