The Wenchi Traditional Council in the Bono Region has commended construction firm, PMC Africa Limited for the massive work being done on the Wenchi township and inner-city roads.
According to the Acting President of the council, Nana Asimpi Adinkra Kosopre, the kind of engineering work being done now can be described as satisfactorily good on the face of it.

“We have witnessed the construction of many roads here and the work that has so far been done by PMC Africa Limited is amazing the Wenchi Traditional Council is happy about it,” the Acting President said.
The Acting President of the Wenchi Traditional Council made the comments during a joint inspection of ongoing road projects with the management of the Wenchi Municipal Assembly and the Bono Regional Director of Ghana Highways, Harmon Atobra Acheampong.

He stated this is the first time the Wenchi Traditional Council has taken a keen interest in the construction of the town and inner-city roads hence the inspection to learn at- first-hand the actual level of work at the various sites.
The team inspected all 10 kilometres of road projects being executed by PMC Africa Limited.
The projects include the construction of a culvert at Gofo stream on the Wenchi-Techiman road, 500 meters road construction at Low-cost, Gensoso, Boadan and Ahenfie.

At the time of the visit construction work on the roads was at the aggregate base level crushed stone or gravel is placed evenly on the surface of the road.
Applauding the contractor for the speedy and quality of work, Nana Asimpi Adinkra Kosopre was grateful to the government for fulfilling the major wish of the people of Wenchi.
For his part, Twafohene of Wenchi Traditional Area, Nana Akoratua Twum Kyeremeh Siasaa Kuffour, speaking for the council appealed to the government to construct a dual carriage from Nkosia through Wenchi.
“The Traditional Council is satisfied with the extent of work by the contractor but we will ask for speedy tarring of the roads.

We also appeal to the government to take the Wenchi-Ofuman road contract from Feeder roads and give it to the Ghana Highways Authority for prompt execution,” the Twafohene added.
The Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive, Alexander Obour Damoah, was grateful to the council for being concerned about the development of Wenchi.
He pledged to work together with the council to facilitate the developmental agender of the municipal assembly.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PMC Africa Limited, Alhaji Abdallah Ahmed Abdallah, in an interview said 95 per cent of construction has been completed.
“We hope to get the roads tarred within the next two to four weeks,” he explained.
