Musician, Fameye born Peter Famiyeh Bozah has for the first time won the Songwriter of the Year award at the 23rd Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) ceremony.
He won the award with his song ‘Praise’.
Fameye beat competition from the four-time winner, Kofi Kinaata, Diana Hamilton, Akwaboah, Minister O.J and Abiana.
His victory in this category is topical since he broke the dominance of High life musician Kofi Kinaata who has won the category four times.
On the first night of the award scheme which was dubbed Industry, 13 awards were presented to deserving winners.
The prestigious awards scheme is expected to climax on Saturday where the Artiste of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Highlife Song, Album of the Year, and Gospel Song of the Year, among other top accolades, would be announced.
