It was an exciting moment when friends and colleagues of Joy FM's Doreen Andoh trooped into the studio to celebrate her golden jubilee birthday.
The iconic presenter, affectionately called the Queen of the Airwaves turned 50 on July 5, 2022.

Ghanaian broadcaster, Master of Ceremonies, media expert and fashion designer, Kofi Okyere Darko, popularly known as KOD, Programmes Manager of Joy FM, Edem Knight-Tay, Veteran broadcaster, Ken Addy, a.k.a Uncle Ken, Sports Journalist, George Addo (Jnr), Doreen Avio and Ayisha Ibrahim, all presenters on Joy FM, and others joined in the celebration.

Earlier, some celebrities including KiDI, Cina Soul, Adina, etc., took to social media to send their best wishes to Doreen.

Doreen is one of The Multimedia Group Limited's (MGL) longest-serving staff. She has served the company for 27 years.

Doreen made her debut on radio, as a news anchor for Joy FM in 1995. Her love for music later drew her to deejaying which turned what she once considered as a hobby into a successful career in broadcasting.

The Queen worked with veteran broadcaster Tommy Annang-Forson, Kofi Tsakpornou, the late Dusty Wayne, Gabby Adjetey, Cox Tamakloe, Mark Okraku Mantey, Kofi Kum Bilson and other talented presenters, who brought a new face to radio when the airwaves were liberalised.
Doreen's career in broadcasting has taken her through a series of hosting and co-hosting of programmes on radio and television and eventually to her current position as the host of the Cosmopolitan Mix – a show she has hosted since 1995.

In June of 2001, Doreen received the Best Presenter of the Year Award – making her the first female to ever receive the award.

In March 2010, she was also crowned Queen of the Airwaves by Leading Ladies’ Network for inspiring many young women and also staying strong as one of the most prominent females in the radio industry.
