Six persons suspected to have killed a 38-year-old man in a chieftaincy dispute at Adum Afrancho have been re-arrested moments after an Asokwa District Court granted them bail.
The suspects include the chief of the area and a Police officer identified as Chief Inspector Emmanuel Opoku Addai, stationed at Kokoben, who has since been interdicted.
The prime suspect in the case, Akwasi Brefo was remanded into Police custody, while the rest were granted bail with a bond of GH¢30,000 each with a surety each on Tuesday.
But they were shortly re-arrested and hauled before the Akropong Circuit Court on fresh charges of conspiracy to commit murder and murder on Wednesday.
Police prosecutors prayed the court presided by His Honour Nana Brew to remand the accused persons whilst police continue with investigations.
The Court subsequently remanded them into Police custody to re-appear on July 20, 2022.
A bar operator, 38-year old Bright Appiah was stabbed to death over a protracted chieftaincy dispute.
Police sources say the deceased was stabbed multiple times by the prime suspect, Akwasi Brefo in the deceased's effort to save his brother, Akwasi Darko, from the wrath of members of a faction in the chieftaincy dispute.
Mr. Darko is currently on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
