The Electronic Transaction Levy (E-levy) was introduced by government as an important tax handle to enable all Ghanaians to contribute to the development of the country.
It was expected to raise 600 million cedis a month. However, as at July this year only 10% of that was realised per month.
Key stakeholders in the implementation of the tax policy are the telecommunication companies.
Dr. Ken Ashigbey is the CEO of the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, the umbrella organisation of the telcos.
Tonight, George Wiafe hosts Dr. Ashigbey to discuss the challenges besetting the policy and the way forward.
Stay tuned.
