The third edition of the Sydney Katz Junior Open Championship at the National Tennis Center is scheduled to start on January 2, and will run through till January 7 2023.
The tournament provides the opportunity for Ghana’s future tennis prospects who fall between the ages 10-16 years to showcase their talents in a sport many consider as a discipline with the potential to put the country on the world map.
Speaking to ghanatennis.org the Executive Director of the Michael Nortey Foundation, Mr. Eric Kyei indicated: "we need good foundations and this is exactly what my outfit is doing to develop and promote tennis in Ghana, there will be contests in both male and female categories for U-10, U-12, U-14 and U-16."
According to Catherine Morton, CEO of Actively Sports, who also doubles as Vice Chair of Accra Social Tennis Club, their collaboration aims to unearth tennis talent and ensure healthy lifestyle in the kids.
Interested players can contact tournament director Eric Tetteh Nartey on 0243801247 and 024 462 3574 for registration forms.
