Brighton and Hove Albion manager, Roberto De Zerbi, has expressed concern about the injury situation of Ghana defender, Tariq Lamptey.
The 22-year-old has been out for a month now with what looked like a knee injury. He was expected to recover earlier than this and was seen in training 11 days after the injury, but it seems the injury has aggravated.
Speaking ahead of the Seagulls' game against Bournemouth on Tuesday, De Zerbi said there will be clarity on Lamptey's injury in the coming week.
"It's a difficult situation, we will see in the next week [about Tariq]. To have some solution on the bench in the coming weeks is important," he said.
"In the last game we finished with Solly March and Pascal Gross [in defence]."
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) was optiimistic Tariq Lamptey will be fit for Ghana's 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) doubleheader qualifying games against Angola, but that was not the case.
