The National Democratic Congress's (NDC) Greater Accra Regional Vetting Committee has until further notice put the vetting of parliamentary aspirants, John Dumelo and Fred Nuamah of the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency on hold.
The two aspirants and others were supposed to go through vetting proceedings on Wednesday, April 5.
The Greater Accra Region Communications Officer disclosed that the other five candidates will by the close of the day, Wednesday, be vetted.
Although the party has not indicated reasons for the suspension of the vetting of the two aspirants, the parliamentary hopefuls are reported to have failed to appear at the venue for vetting.
The party has however disclosed that it will decide on what to do next after the deadline for vetting, April 5 elapses.
Mr. Dumelo and Mr. Nuamah are actors but seek to pursue their political ambitions as parliamentarians for the Ayawaso West Wougon Constituency on the ticket of the NDC.
Mr. Dumelo has had his first run in the 2020 election where he lost by a very slim margin to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Lydia Seyram Alhassan.
Dumelo and Nuamah had been engaged in a feud as Mr Dumelo claimed he had been betrayed by Mr Nuamah whom he considers a friend for seeking to contest against him.
But, Mr. Nuamah does not think he has betrayed his supposed friend as he claimed he had Mr. Dumelo’s blessings in his quest to contest.
Meanwhile, the NDC has set May 13 for its primaries.
