Black Stars defender, Tariq Lamptey, together with his charity institution, Tariq Lamptey Foundation, on Tuesday, May 30, were in Asamankese to make a donation to two schools as part of his annual activity.
The donation is part of Tariq's yearly charity works in Ghana which he started five years ago during his time at Chelsea.
The Brighton and Hove Albion star is in Ghana as part of his short holidays before starting pre-season ahead of the 2023/24 season.
The trip to Asamankese was to support the immense talent in the town and show appreciation for the continuous support from Ghanaians.
Among the items donated were football equipment as well as Brighton's home and away kits to two schools in the town; Freedom Methodist School and Wesley Methodist School.
Before the donation, was a ceremonial game between two Division Three League teams in the area with Young Kotoko Football Club playing host to Nana Kodie Football Club.

Prince Atsu scored the only goal of the game in the first half of the game to win it for Young Kotoko, going ahead to win the Best Player of the fixture.
For his gift, he received a pair of football boots from Tariq at the end of the game.

The two teams also received Brighton's 2022/23 kits to be used in their subsequent games.
Speaking after the donation, the Black Stars right-back said: "Thank you for having me. Thank you for the opportunity to be here. There was some great talent on show."
"Hopefully, this is the first of many. I feel like there is an opportunity to help the kids and everybody deserves a chance."

In attendance at the event were the traditional leaders of the area including the Chief while the National Ambulance Service as well as other security personnel were also present.
