The Managing Director of the Daily Dispatch newspaper, Ben Ephson, has predicted that the candidates will deliver an enthralling performance in the 2024 election.
Speaking on Joy FM Top Story on Friday, he explained that the upcoming “2024 general election is going to be very interesting.”
This, he says, will be dependent on who the opposition National Democratic Congress flagbearer, John Mahama will pick as a running mate in the 2024 general election.
According to him, amongst the NPP candidates, the one who can give Mr Mahama a run for his money will be the Vice President, Dr Bawumia.

Mr Ephson’s comments come after the Vice President today filed his nomination forms to contest in the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primaries.
Dr Bawumia submitted his forms to the Presidential Elections Committee of the party at its headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra.
Delivering a speech after the submission of the form, the Vice President who was flanked by some MPs and CEOs said, he has his own vision to take Ghana to the next level in the emerging Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Dr Bawumia explained that having assisted President Akufo-Addo to realise his vision for Ghana as Vice President, he is contesting to be President to implement his visions and build on the foundations put in place.
“Notwithstanding the economic challenges of our time, our government has constructed more infrastructure than any other government in the fourth republic and many transformational policies have been introduced for the first time in our history, including the Ghana Card, Digital Address, Mobile Money Interoperability, delivery of medicines by drones, One District One Factory, Planting for Food and Jobs, Zongo Development Fund, Agenda 111, Free TVET and Free SHS to mention a few. We have also created 2.1 million jobs in six years, more than any government in the fourth republic.
“Having implemented these transformational policy initiatives, it is very important that we don’t go back ward as a country. We cannot put the country back in the hands of people who don’t have an understanding of and belief in the vision. That is why it is important for us to break the eight. There is still much more to do,” Dr Bawumia told party supporters.

Meanwhile, Dr Bawumia has indicated that his action is a major step toward retaining power in the 2024 polls.
“I have just filed my nomination forms to contest as flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party for the 2024 Presidential Elections. I believe this is the first step to our victory in 2024, by the Grace of God”, he said on Friday, June 16, 2023.
