Ghanaian socialite and musician, Mona Faiz Montrage, also known as Hajia4Reall has commented on her predicament for the first time since her arrest in the UK and subsequent extradition to the US in May.
She is currently facing six charges for an alleged $2 million romance scam targeting older Americans.
In the May 15 trial at a federal court in Manhattan, United States, she pleaded not guilty.
But more than a month after the news of her arrest emerged, Hajia4Reall has chosen her birthday to make her presence known on social media.
Taking to Instagram, the socialite shared pictures of herself wearing a black leather dress to mark her 31st birthday.
In the June 26 post, she expressed appreciation to her fans for "your love and prayers showed to me during these difficult times."
She added that it is only a matter of time before she is vindicated.
"There is a time for everything, and the world will come to know the truth, and my story will be heard," she wrote in the caption.
Although it is unclear what manner she is planning to get this story told, Ghanaians on social media remain eager to know the outcome of the case which has now gained national attention.
