Chief Executive Officer of Wembley Sports Construction, Robert Coleman, has been honoured by the Ghana Football Awards board for his contribution to sports infrastructure in Ghana.
Coleman’s company is the leading astro turfs installer in the country, contributing to over 60% of existing synthetic playing surfaces across Ghana.
Since 2017, Coleman’s vision has resulted in the creation of the ‘One Constituency One Astro Turf’ mantra, an ambitious drive towards ensuring every single one of the 275 constituencies across Ghana is serviced with an astro turf.
“It is a great honour to be given this recognition,” he said at his acceptance speech.
“When we started this project, there were people who had doubts, but today, we have not only managed to prove them wrong but have become the leading company in the installation of astro turfs in Ghana,” he said.
Wembley Sports Construction delivered its first synthetic grass in 2014 for the people of Kotobabi and its environs. Since then, the company has constructed and manages over 60 others across Ghana, including one in Walewale Zongo in the Northern region, Kyebi Zongo in the Eastern region and Madina Zongo in Greater Accra.
In December 2018, His Excellency commissioned one of Wembley’s finest projects “Lord’s Wembley Plus” at Shukura in the Ablekuma Municipality in Accra.
