Nigerian musician Simi has spoken on the speculated romantic involvement with colleague, rapper Falz before she married her husband Adekunle Gold.
She explained that though they had obviously enviable chemistry, their relationship was not romantically inclined.
Simi gave details about their working relationship during an interview for the Official Naija Top 10 programme on MTV Base Africa.
The singer/songwriter said that they first collaborated on the song “JAMB Question Remix,” and after hearing excellent feedback from fans, they moved on to “Falz Soldier.”
Simi indicated they never intended for their musical connection to suggest a love relationship, despite the fact that it fostered an allegation of one.
She added that they made the strategic decision to capitalise on their obvious connection which resulted in the production of the album “Chemistry,” whose title and concept were suggested by fans who saw their relationship as more than just a musical collaboration.
