Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton says he has no issues calling up players playing in Saudi Arabia for national assignment as long as they play 'regularly.'
The Saudi Pro League has seen the arrival of some of Europe's fine talents this summer with the likes of Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez and a host of others making the love from European football.
Thomas Partey, earlier this summer, was the subject of strong interest from Saudi Arabia following Arsenal's decision to sign Declan Rice from Arsenal.
In an interview with TalkSPORT earlier on Tuesday, August 1, Hughton was quizzed about whether a possible move to Saudi Arabia affecting Partey's national team career.
"No [it wouldn't]. Thomas is an experienced player. [He] had a wonderful season at Arsenal last season," he said.
"Firstly, it's about playing. Players that are going to be playing regularly so they keep up their levels of fitness. And of course, it's [also] about the league that they are playing.
"If you look at our players with the Black Stars, they would be scattered throughout Europe. Some play in the best leagues, some play in, maybe, not the same level. But it's about playing regularly."
A Partey move to Saudi seemed to have cooled down after Mikel Arteta expressed interest in keeping the midfielder at the club this season.
